After a number of years of Cameron playing around with the infamous Rebirth software, Paul Oakenfold did the Essential Mix world tour for radioOne. These sets were the pinnacle for a decision to divulge into the realm of electronic music. The journey which was created and the atmosphere formed was something which Cam wanted to learn, and he knew his taste in this “Trance” music was not common in his city and amongst friends, and thought that he could bring something to the masses. Not too long after that, turntables were purchased, the ‘Elemance’ guise was thought up, and mix tapes were frequently created to be handed out amongst friends and other tranceaddicts.
In 2003, Global Dj Broadcast and Markus Schulz named Elemance, the world's "Best New Dj", by winning the Global Dj Contest that had over 250 entries from around the world. This saw his set played alongside Markus Schulz and Tiesto, and inevitably was a major stepping stone in his confidence in the ability Cam had to take a listener on a journey.
His Internet radio show, Global Elements (www.globalelements.net), which started in early 2003, continues to bring the best upcoming talent from around the globe, pushing boundaries in styles not heard on the other Trance radio shows. With guest appearance and support from artists of the like such as Eelke Kleijn, LikWit, Matt Darey, Tkac & Haverlik, Opencloud, John 00 Flemming, and Ben Lost. End of 2004 saw Elemance approached by host of Australia's longest running EDM radio show, Peter Mogg, to co-host his weekly program Crucial Cutz, heard weekly on Brisbane radio 102.1FM. This show has been a pioneer of its type having been started back in the early ‘80s, before most of the current styles today were formulated. By doing a radio show both online and offline has given Elemance the profile in Brisbane known for the leading radio presenter for upfront Trance music and djs.
2005 has seen Elemance perform at all Brisbane's big electronic events, notably Slinky vs GlobalUnderground, and Mayhem 2005; last year was a successful year also in terms of live gigs with interstate tours and booked for warm-up slots for the likes of Sander Kleinenberg, and Above & Beyond.
Elemance has begun the long road into production, his attention is primarily in the studio looking to produce addictive melodies and rhythms that he hopes will continue his journey through the sounds and emotions which he loves so much. A friend of his from England has just moved to near, and together they hope to take on the scene, and deliver the lacking ingredient in the Brisbane Trance scene, producers!
October 2005, Elemance and his radio show Global Elements will present a new series to CrystalClouds, called the CrystalClouds Session; in which resident djs from the forums will mix exclusive sets for the show, and be presented in a line of episodes till the end of the year at least. Proving why listeners to Global Elements enjoy how the show is not just a showcase of Elemance’s talent, and the new talents from around the globe, but the community feel which is created amongst the listeners, djs, and sponsors.
