Chava was born and raised in Mexico City. He's been playing for 12 years, and his credentials in the US include winning -by the unanimous decision of 8 industry judges, taking top honors above 200 submissions from all over the US- the GIANT/BPM mag/Groovetickets.com national DJ contest in 2005. His prize rewarded him with the opening spot @ Danny Howells' Global Underground MIAMI:027 tour along with Nic Fanciulli. After that gig, Chava became a GIANT resident @ famous AVALON Hollywood and Montmartre Lounge, sharing decks with DJS like James Holden, Hybrid, Dave Aude, Hernan Cattaneo to name a few. In 2005, too, Chava won the second worldwide place in the "Bijou Breaks Breakthru DJ Competition". He's also played gigs for Spundae, Circus Hollywood and the FLAUNT mag party in Hollywood Hills. In Toronto, Canada, he played the famous TONIC club and did a guest appearance at "Electric Circus", Much Music's legendary electronica TV showcase.
In Mexico, Chava has played pretty much all of the biggest clubs, like La Boom, AM, Rioma and 2000 person festivals like Summer of Love, The Morning Glory Festival and the Equinox, as well as clubs and parties in Cabo San Lucas (Nikki Beach, Passion, Red, Blue Room), Playa del Carmen (La Santanera, Jellyfish, Corona Beach Fest, Corvette Ninja) and many large gigs in clubs and festivals in other Mexican cities.
In late 2005, he decided to leave LA for Playa del Carmen, Mexico -one of the top underground party destinations in the world- and decided to open a small beach club with a partner... he opened it and everything was OK until hurricane Wilma came and made impossible to keep going with that... But in the meantime, he met M.A.N.D.Y. and some other very interesting tech heads who showed him the path to electro house... Chava left for Dallas this time, and was lucky enough to meet fellas Corey Spengler and Blake Potter (Opencloud) and they started blending their sounds, playing together under the OCD moniker.
After few months in Texas, Chava went back to Mexico City, and since then he's been pushing the envelope in the Mexican underground music scene, playing numerous gigs both in Mexico and other countries. He opened for M.A.N.D.Y. in Austin TX and in 2007 started his own show on proton radio: Adults Only, which aims to showcase the best and finest tech/electro house DJs and producers, both names and up-and comers, hand picking a very special guest every month... showing the audience the freshest proposals around.
