Bio:

In just five short years Darius Bassiray has managed to amass an illustrious list of achievements in both his DJing and Producing. Widely becoming noticed as one of the latest high quality talents on offer from Australia, Darius’ sound and attention to detail has seen him make a mark with not only his productions but his DJ sets.

Joining forces in 2002 with local DJ Daniel Banko - under the alias, “Rollin Connection’,” the two have experienced great success becoming one of Melbourne’s forerunners of the Deep Rolling Tech House sound. Just 12 months after coming together, Darius and Daniel set up their own night “Darkbeat,” a name which in the last five years has become synonymous with providing only the best local and international DJs.

Since his first DJ appearance at “Sunny,” as one of the youngest DJs to play the main room, Darius has come to support an endless list of the worlds most talented and revered DJs including Lee Burridge, Mathew Jonson, James Holden, James Zabiela, Clive Henry, Michael Mayer, Layo & Bushwacka, Oliver Koletski, Marc Romboy, John Tejada, Luca Bachetti, Superpitcher, Sander Kleinenberg, Guy J, DJ Three, Abe Deuque, Paulo Mojo, Petter, Ame, Chris Fortier, Nic Fanciulli, Jimmy Van M, Le K, Hybrid, James Talk, SOS, Jonathan Lisle, Anthony Pappa, Hernan Cattaneo, Habersham, Luke Fair, Lexicon Avenue, Steve Porter and countless others

He has played at a wide range of the countries best parties - and holds a residency at Darkbeat & Sunny, and has also played Earthcore, Hot BBQ Festival, Likes Of You, Blow Your Own Way, Pretty Simple, Renaissance, Chinese Laundry (Sydney), Lost Baggage(Sydney), Spice (Sydney), Subservice (Sydney), Loose Kaboose (Sydney), Drop (Brisbane), Bar Open (Perth) and Q Bar (Bangkok).

Darius has also seen his name cropping up on more then just local line ups, with recent interstate shows only the beginning, his name is quickly making its way across the oceans as America gets ready for some Rollin Connection in 2008.

Darius Bassiray has made a name for himself producing fresh, unique beats which have turned heads on the dance floor and enjoying releases on labels including “Arabica,” “Proton” and “Composure,” and soon to be on Jamie Steven's, Stel and John Delagelis' new imprint Dieb Audio out of Athens, Greece. Darius’ numerous solo and collaborative efforts, with locals like Stuart McKeown and Paul Beynon, have found their way into the record bags of guys like Chris Fortier, Phil K, to Peace Division, Maetrik, & Jesse Somfay - and James Zabiela featured “Lorenzo” in his “Four” compilation.

At the end of the day it all seems to be adding up right, with growing local and international exposure, Darius Bassiray has a bright future ahead of him not only in the in the studio, but in the DJ Booth.
